Unlocking the Japanese Language on Lowrance Chartplotters
Lowrance Chartplotters come with multiple pre-installed languages, but access to them may be restricted due to regional settings. A simple procedure allows you to unlock these languages remotely by entering an unlock code.
If the device is protected by geofencing, the interface will be available only in English. After unlocking the geofence, the Standard Language Pack will become available, but it does not include the Japanese language.
To enable the Japanese interface, you need to unlock the Asian Language Pack, which includes:
- English (US)
- English (UK)
- Japanese
- Korean
- Thai
- Simplified Chinese (China)
- Traditional Chinese (Taiwan)
If you are proficient in English, having only the English interface will not be an issue. Additionally, there are many video tutorials on YouTube about configuring Lowrance devices. However, if the English interface is difficult for you to navigate, you can unlock additional languages remotely.
Important: If any non-standard language pack has already been unlocked on the device, switching to a different one is no longer possible.
